An unfortunate event

So last night, driving home from work, the car gets clipped by someone running a red light making a left turn, and I managed to avoid a direct hit, but still got clipped on the side.

The damage isn't too bad, but it's still a set-back.

The irony here is that I took a picture this morning of my car. I decided to take it to work because it was a nice, cool, and non humid day. So this morning before work,

Time for a change

More updates!

Unfortunately I didn't take pics of this update, and should have. But I was short on time, as I was prepping to head to Disney/Orlando/Gartner ITexpo. So needed to work quick on the car.

Basically did a full timing belt job which included changing of

Timing Belt
Tensioner Pulley
Idler Pulley
Tensioner
Balance Shaft
Balance Shaft Tensioner
Middle Timing Belt Cover ( didn't have one before and added )
Top timing belt cover ( added as well )
Water Pump

Well worth having the piece of mind. Knowing that the car will now have another 60k miles of the belts not needing to be replaced for a while, or risk breaking them.

I did however, get a nice picture of the GSX outside the hotel parking. :)

Unfortunately the car is still so very far from the finished product that I want it to be. With the lack of resources (money), and time. It's very difficult to get it exactly the way I want it. However, this doesn't mean I'll be giving up on it. Will just take a while.

Re-capping the gap

So we are now on 8/12/13. A lot has happened since, and due to that, I haven't had much time to really post on here.

I'll try to summarize what's happened so far.

  • Car is now on full Speed Density, Electronic Boost By Gear via ECMlink, and 1250cc injectors. Car is as fast as its ever been with a excellent tune from a friend who tunes just about everyone's car here in South FL.

  • The ESi has been great and reliable. However, due to picking up a new-er project, might be forced to sell it off. If I do end up selling it, it will be sold to a good friend of mine. So I know it is going to a good home.

  •  I mentioned that I picked up another project. Yes, call me crazy. I'm not sure what it is that I find fascinating about these cars, but something does. I picked up a 99 Mitsubishi Eclipse Spyder GS. Needs a lot of love and attention, but with the plans I have in store for it, will make it a great and excellent DD.

Will be making it's own Journal/Build page for it.
